Introduction
As requested, I have researched THE RESULTS OF THE PARTICIPATION OF RUSSIA IN THE PREVIOUS GAMES. The results are presented below.
Medals at summer sports and by summer games.
The most successful years was 1996 (Atlanta) and 2000 (Sydney). Russia took two second places. Total number of medals in Atlanta- 63, in Sydney- 89. Difficult year was 2012 when we took only the 4-th place. The biggest number of medals in summer Olimpics brings Athletics, 79 medals including 27 gold medals, 26 silver and 26 bronze. Then goes wrestling- 51 medals. And Gymnastics- 36 medals. The fewest number of medals bring badminton and archery only 1 medal.
Medals at winter sports and by winter games.
The most successful year is 1994 in Lillehammer. Russia took the first place and the total number of medals was 23. Difficult year was 2010, Russia took only 11 place. The biggest number of medals in winter Olimpics brings
CROSS-COUNTRY SKIING, 36 medals, including 18 gold medals, 7- silver medals and 8- bronze. Then goes figure skating- 26 medals. And biathlon- 20 medals. The fewest number of medals bring skeleton,nordic combined and snowboarding only 1 medal.
Conclusion.
To conclude, I wish that our Russian team will show the highest results on this Olimpis in Sochi!
